عكف ياسر صاري منذ سنوات على الحقب العربية المختلفة من تاريخ اللاذقية يدرسها، وفي هذا الكتاب الذي يقدمه لنا اليوم، يتألف من بحث يخص المدينة في القرون الوسطى وثلاثة أبحاث عندما كانت تحت حكم الدولة العثمانية أن الباحث الحقيقي هو الذي يأتي بجديد وليس الذي يكتفي بترداد ما جاءت به مؤلفات منشورة وضعت قبله. لا شك أن معظم المعلومات التي نجدها في كتاب ياسر صاري جديدة. لقد استند إجمالا على مراجع غير معروفة ولا سينما المخطوطة منها.
