Overview
بطل الرواية، تيم، هو طفل يعاني من زيادة الوزن وغالبا ما يتعرض للمضايقة والسخرية. ولذلك فهو يشعر بعدم الارتياح في المدرسة وفي الحياة اليومية. لكن والده أعطاه حذاءا أحمر للمشي لمسافات طويلة في عيد ميلاده ويأخذ تيم معه في نزهة على الأقدام. إنهما معا \"حذاء النار\" و\"صندل الرياح\". أثناء التنزه، يروي الأب قصصا لتيم. خلال الوقت الذي يقضيه معا، يدرك تيم أنه يتمتع بالدعم والاستقرار في عائلته. لم يعد يريد أن يكون مختلفا، بل يتقبل وضعه ويتعلم أن يضحك على نفسه.
