تناول الكتيب السابع من سلسلة مبدعون للكاتب أحمد المفتي سيرة حياة الموسيقار السوري أمين الخياط الذي نشأ وترعرع في ثلاثينيات القرن الماضي في بيت دمشقي أصيل بحي العمارة القريب من الجامع الأموي فشرب الأصالة وتذوق الألحان والجمال وتربى سمعه على القصيد والموشح والقد. وجاء في الكتيب أن الخياط درس في الكلية العلمية الوطنية بدمشق وطغى شغفه بالموسيقا على تحصيله الأدبي والعلمي فدرس في المعهد الموسيقي الشرقي وكان من المتفوقين واختص في العزف على آلة القانون ونهل الكثير من المقامات العربية وفروعها وأتقن العزف والأوزان والضروب والنوطة الموسيقية قراءة وتنغيما.
