كتاب يوضح الصورة المشرقة للحضارة الإسلامية في أحد الجوانب الأشد ارتباطا بحياة الإنسان وهي الطب وصحة الإنسان. والكتاب عبارة عن معجم طبي يعرض حقائق أسرار الطب جمع فيه الطبيب مسعود بن محمد السجزي خلاصة المعارف الطبية المدونة حتي عصره مستعينا بالمعاجم الطبية التي سبقته. وقد تعرض المؤلف في المقدمة لبيان نشوء المصطلح الطبي القديم وتطوره، وإجراء التقاطعات للنص المخطوط المحقق مع بقية المصادر الطبية الهامة المعنية بالمصطلح الطبي لبيان التوافق والتعارض، وهو ما يوضح المستوى الطبي في القرن 8 للهجرة من الحضارة الإسلامية. ويظل معجم حقائق أسرار الطب مرجعا مهما لشرح معاني المصطلحات الطبية والأساليب الصيدلانية لتحضير الدواء في الحضارة الإسلامية، ولعل ما تحتاجه اللغة العربية تدعيم الاتجاه المعجمي الذي وضع أساسه قديما.
