ليس ريميو الوحيد بين الكبار الذين لم يكن مبرزا في دراسته) وقد اقتصرت على المدرسة الثانوية (فباستور وانيشتين وغيرهما من الموهوبين كانوا في نظر أساتذتهم طلابا عاديين. ومع ذلك فكل من الثلاثة شكل منعطفا في تاريخ فنه أو عمله. ولكن ماذا لو أن الظرف قضى على موهبة أحدهم أو إعاقها عن النمو وهذا السؤال تطرحه المجتمعات اليوم على ذاتها أكثر من أي يوم مضى لأن تطورها يقوم أكثر فأكثر على تقدم العلوم والفنون، فكل مجتمع بحاجة إلى تعهد مواهب أفراده كي تنمو وتتفتح. وها نحن نشهد اليوم نشوء علم جديد، بدأت نتائجه تظهر غايته الكشف عن الموهوبين تم تصنيفهم في أنواع ومراتب، وتعهدهم بحيث يعطي كل منهم أحسن مردود ممكن لمجتمعه وللعالم. وهذا الكتاب ليس تلخيصا وافيا لعلم الموهوبين وحسب، بل هو دليل بحث. بوسع الباحث المتخصص أن يستخدمه، وكذلك المدرس ... والمثقف الذي بعنيه أمر المعرفة في مرحلة تاريخية تقوم على المعرفة.
