يتحدث الكتاب عن الاقتصاد القياسي حيث إن الإقتصاد القياسي علم يتكون من أربعة علوم اقتصادية ورياضية أساسية إذ يضم النظرية الاقتصادية بفرعيها الجزئي والكلي ومن ثم الرياضيات البحتة والمتخصصة والأساليب الإحصائية أو ما يعرف بالإحصاء الرياضي والسبب الذي اعتمد الاقتصاد القياسي لهذه العلوم هو إن الظاهرة الاقتصادية التي تضم في طياتها كل المشاكل الاقتصادية تشمل على كل العلاقات الاقتصادية التي تمثلها بما يسمى عناصر الظاهرة التي تحدد علاقات الظاهرة الاقتصادية.
