استهل مدير الندوة الأديب الدكتور إسماعيل مروة الحديث بسرد ذكرياته مع الشاعر الراحل وتعارفه عليه مؤكدا أن العيسى عاش أجيال من أطفال العرب على قصائده ما يجعله يستحق التكريم دائما لأنه الشاعر الذي لم يضاهه أحد في نتاجه الأدبي للأطفال فكان يخاطبهم بأسلوب يبتعد فيه عن الوعظ وكانت السعادة تغمره عندما يسمعهم يرددون اشعاره وظل دائما مؤمنا بالقومية وبالعروبة حتى نهاية حياته. وفي محور الطفل والطفولة تحدث الدكتور دياب الراشد عن الشاعر العيسى الذي كان يبذر الخير في كل ما حوله ويعطي الآخرين دروسا كثيرة وجليلة مستذكرا معرفته الأولى به سنة 1982 حيث لمس حينها حبه الشديد للأطفال وتعامله معهم بمنتهى الرقة لتكون حياته تصديقا لشعره الذي كان يسعى عبره لأن ينقل الإيمان بالعرب كأمة واحدة إلى الأجيال الجديدة.
