يدور موضوع الكتاب حول أحكام قانون حماية المستهلك، والذي يعتبر حديث النشأة في البلدان العربية. تأتي أهمية البحث في قانون لحماية المستهلك من حيث أنه يحمي مصالح معظم أبناء المجتمع حيث صار الجميع مستهلكون للسلع والخدمات، ولما كانت حماية المستهلك قد أضحت ظاهرة عالمية ومطلبا . ودوليا جاء هذا الكتاب ليضيء على جميع الإتفاقيات الدولية التي عنيت بتقرير تلك الحماية وأهمها المبادئ التي أقرتها الأمم المتحدة عام 1985 بموجب القرار رقم 39/347 إلى جانب اتفاقيات أخرى لدول الإتحاد الأوروبي: ومواقف المشرع الفرنسي، وموقف التشريعات العربية وبالأخص ما عني به المشترع اللبناني الذي سن تشريعا لحماية المستهلك في عام 2005 وذلك بموجب القانون رقم 659 والصادر في 4/2/2005.
