يتناول هذا الكتاب تفنيد \"أسطورة القرصنة العربية في الخليج\"، ويرجع تهديدها إلى أنها صنيعة \"شركة الهند الشرقية\" التي كانت تسعى لأسباب تجارية محضة. في الواقع، كان هناك مخطط من \"كابتن جون مالكولم\" لإنشاء قاعدة بريطانية تجارية في الخليج، وهو ما عمل على تنفيذه منذ عام 1800م. وبموجب هذا المخطط، بدأت \"شركة الهند الشرقية\" حملة افتراءات لتوصيف القواسم بالقرصنة، واتهمتهم بأنهم السبب في تهديد النشاط البحري في المحيط الهندي، حتى أنهم ألصقوا بكل حادث أو سوء طالع يتعرض له أي سفينة القواسم بوصفهم \"القراصنة\". هذه الحملة الشرسة أدت إلى الهجوم على رأس الخيمة وتدميرها، مما قضى على قوة القواسم البحرية.
