يشمل هذا الكتاب ميتاميزياء الوجود وميتاميزياء الواقع وميتاميزياء العلم والفلسفة وميتاميزياء اليقين وميتاميزياء المعرفة وميتاميزياء العقل حيث تختلف الميتاميزياء عن التحليل النقدي فبينما التحليل التقليدي يحلل المفاهيم ليميز بين الأشياء والميتاميزياء تعتمد على تحليل المفاهيم لتوحد بين الأشياء بدلا من التمييز بينها. فمثل بالنسبة إلي التحليل التقليدي الحياة هي ما يولد وينمو ويتطور وبذلك تتميز الكائنات الحية الحيوانية والنباتية عن الكون المادي غير الحي. لكن بالنسبة إلى الميتاميزياء الحياة حقل لغوي قد يضيق ليشمل الكائنات الحيوانية والنباتية فقط وقد يتسع ليشمل الكون كله.
