يحاول الباحث في هذه الدراسة ان يسلط الضوء على جانب من جوانب الهيمنة \"الامريكية\" في منطقة الشرق الاوسط، وفي إقليم من أهم اقاليم هذه المنطقة، تركيا وفي فترة تعد قمة الحرب الباردة، أي عقد يعبر فيه ً ان يجعل من تركيا جسرا ً الستينات، فكلا من الاتحاد السوفيتي والولايات المتحدة حاول جادا الى بقية اقليم الشرق الاوسط، وقد نجحت الاستراتيجية الامريكية على الساحة التركية بينما فشل السوفيت في ذلك، وكان للأتراك دور مهم في هذه المسألة، فهم منذ أعلان الجمهورية عام 1923 اتجهو نحو الغرب بكل ما فيه، وهذه الخطة التي رسمها رمز الاتراك، مصطفى كمال، سهلت النشاط الامريكي في تركيا، وخاصة بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية.
