تناولت الدراسة موضوع الحق في سرية المراسلات، من خلال تعريفه وبيان طبيعته القانونية وتمييزه عن غيره من الحقوق، كما هدفت إلى إظهار الحماية القانونية التي يتمتع بها هذا الحق في ظل الشريعة الإسلامية والمواثيق الدولية والتشريعات الوطنية بأسلوب مقارن، ثم خلصت الدراسة إلى أن الحق في سرية المراسلات هو حق نسبي ترد عليه قيود وتحكمه ضوابط تحد من ممارسته، وقد تم تقسيم هذه الدراسة إلى ثلاثة فصول، تناولنا في الفصل التمهيدي تعريف الحق في سرية المراسلات، وبيان نطاق ممارسته، وتحديد طبيعته القانونية، كما خصصنا الفصل الأول من الدراسة للحديث عن الحماية القانونية التي يحظى بها الحق في سرية المراسلات بموجب الشريعة الإسلامية والمواثيق الدولية والتشريعات الوطنية، وفي الفصل الثاني تكلمنا عن القيود التي ترد على هذا الحق في الظروف العادية والاستثنائية وخاتمة تتضمن أهم النتائج والتوصيات التي توصلنا إليها في هذه الدراسة.
