يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن حياة مصطفى لطفي المنفلوطي هو أديب مصري من أم تركية قام بالكثير من الترجمة والاقتباس من بعض روايات الأدب الفرنسي الشهيرة بأسلوب أدبي فذ وصياغة عربية في غاية الجمال والروعة حيث ولد مصطفى لطفي المنفلوطي في منفلوط إحدى مدن محافظة أسيوط في سنة 1289 هـ الموافق 1876 م ونشأ في بيت متوسط، والمنفلوطي من الأدباء الذين كان لطريقتهم الإنشائية أثر في الجيل الحاضر كان يميل إلى مطالعة الكتب الأدبية كثيرا.
