أشار عبد الخالق محجوب في كتابه لمحات من تاريخ الحزب الشيوعي السوداني الي أن النقد بدأ يبرز منذ تكوين الحلقات الأولي للحركة السودانية للتحرر الوطني عام 1946 لأسلوب عمل أول لجنة مركزية لها، تلك القيادة التي لم تبرز وجه الحزب المستقل، واختزلت التعليم الماركسي في بعض النصوص الجامدة، ولم تدرس أوضاع البلاد من زاوية ماركسية، ولم تتجه لبناء الحزب وسط الطبقة العاملة، كما لم يتم وضع لائحة تحدد العلاقة بين أعضاء الحزب وهيئاته، بل كانت تسود العلاقات الشخصية أكثر من الروابط التنظيمية. وبدأ النقد يبرز ضد هذا الاتجاه، وتواصل الصراع والنقد عام 1947 م ليحل المسائل الآتية : - بناء فروع وسط الطبقة العاملة وترقية كادر عمالي وسط القيادة.
