كتاب \"اقتفاء خطى المادية التاريخية\" للمؤرخ والمنظر السياسي پيري أندرسن، وترجمة يزن الحاج. ينظر هذا الكتاب في بعض المفارقات في تطور الفكر الماركسي في هذه الفترة. حيث يبدأ بدراسة النمو الاستثنائي والمتنوع للمادية التاريخية في العالم الأنجلو- أمريكي، متشعبا في مجالات متعددة من التاريخ إلى الاقتصاد، ومن السياسة إلى الأدب، ومن علم الاجتماع إلى الفلسفة. ولكن تلك السنوات نفسها شهدت أيضا انحسارا شديدا للتأثيرات الماركسية في الثقافات اللاتينية – في فرنسا أو إيطاليا- حيث كانت الماركسية قوية وراسخة تقليديا. وظهر جليا أن منافساتها النظرية الرئيسة كانت عبارة عن صيغ متعاقبة من البنيوية وما بعد البنيوية.
