Overview
يتكون هذا الكتاب من جزأين. الأول عبارة عن تقرير إداري عن الصراع القبلي بدارفور عام 1977م. كان الغرض من التقرير مساعدة مساعدة الوفاق القبلي الذي عقد بمدينة نيالا في ذلك العام. ويوثق التقرير للصراع في دارفور في مرحلة تاريخية مهمة سبقت الصراع المسلح بين حركات دارفور والحكومة السودانية عام 2002 م. أما الجزء الثاني من الكتاب فيتناول أسباب استمرار الصراع القبلي بدارفور خاصة بين مكونات البدو الرحل (البقارة) بجنوب دارفور، يتطرق هذا الجزء الى سياسيات الدولة في مجالي الإدارة الأهلية والتقسيم الإداري للإقليم الذي ظل لأكثر من 3 قرون وحدة إدارية وسياسية واحدة، كما تم تناول دور القبيلة في السياسية السودانية منذ استقلال السودان 1956م وحتى اليوم.
