\"أسماء القبائل وأنسابها\" من المصنفات الهامة التي خلفها العلامة الكبير، \"السيد القزويني\"، الذي جمع فيه توليفة هامة من أسماء القبائل القديمة وأنسابها، وبعض الملوك والأعلام المشهورين، كما تضمن الكتاب ذكر لبعض الأقوام والأديان والعقائد والمذاهب وغيرها من الموضوعات الهامة التي عني المؤلف بذكرها في مؤلفه هذا. أما ترتيب مواد الكتاب فقد جاءت على منوال اللغويين في ترتيب المعاجم من البناء على اشتقاق الاسم والرجوع إلى أصله الأول. والهدف من هذا الكتاب هو الكشف عن النقاب عن بعض من القبائل العربية القديمة التي عاصرها المؤلف وأحب تأريخ أصولها خوفا من اندثارها.
