ينقسم فصول الكتاب في قسمين في القسم الأول درس السلفية بإعتبارها أيديولوجية دينية حيث عمد إلى تفكيك الجهاز الأيديولوجي للخطاب السلفي وبسط ما يحتويه من رموز ومعان ثم اكتشاف نوع البراديغم الذي يشكل الناظم الداخلي للعقيدة السلفية، وفي القسم الثاني بدا أهتمامه بالمواقف الملموسة للسلفيين المغاربة، وذلك من خلال وصف مكثف للممارسات التي يكشفها الواقع كما سعى في هذا القسم إلى تحقيق قيمة إثنوغرافية مضافة من خلال المعطيات التي نجح في جمعها عن طريق البحث الميداني.
