عمل نادر قدمه الفرنسي أندريه موروا متناولا حياة رئيس الوزراء بنيامين دزرائيلي السابق إبان حكم ملكة بريطانيا العظمى فيكتوريا، وذلك بدءأ من حكاية جده مرورا بوالده المثقف ووصولا إليه نفسه، وقد كان إلى جانب طموحه السياسي كاتبا وأديبا عرف بخطبه المنمقه والبلاغية، تقلد مناصب رفيعة أهمها ترأسه لحزب المحافظين. إن هذا العمل فيه جوانب ومفارقات جميلة ومؤثرة، من ضمنها علاقته بزوجته التي كانت مثلا حيا للحب والعطف المتبادل، حتى أنه قال عنها عشت ثلاثين سنة دون أن يعكر صفو حياتنا أية مشاكل.
