يروي أحمد لطفي السيد في سيرته الذاتية \"قصة حياتي\" ملامح نشأته وتكوينه الفكري والوطني، حيث ولد في قرية \"برقين\" بالدقهلية عام 1872 ونشأ في أسرة مصرية الهوى والهوية. يلقب بـ\"أستاذ الجيل\" و\"أفلاطون الأدب العربي\"، وقد لعب دورا محوريا في صياغة الفكر الليبرالي الحديث بمصر، وكان شخصية محورية في التعليم والثقافة والسياسة، من رئاسته للجامعة المصرية ومجمع اللغة العربية إلى توليه وزارة المعارف والخارجية. يبرز الكتاب مواقفه الشجاعة مثل رفضه رئاسة الجمهورية بعد ثورة 1952، وتضامنه مع طه حسين في أزمة الشعر الجاهلي، ودوره في تأسيس جامعة القاهرة ودعم الفلسفة. تعكس هذه السيرة التزامه بالاستقلال، العقلانية، والتعليم، وتجسد تجربة رجل أسس للنهضة الفكرية والسياسية الحديثة في مصر.
