يقدم هذا الكتاب دراسة توثيقية وأدبية تستعيد سيرة وأثر أحد أعمدة الشعر النبطي في دولة قطر والخليج العربي خلال القرن التاسع عشر، وهو الشاعر ماجد بن صالح الخليفي (1872-1907م). يسعى المحقق \"هلال الخليفي\" من خلال هذا العمل إلى حفظ التراث الشفهي المكتوب لهذا الشاعر الذي توفي في ريعان شبابه، لكنه ترك بصمة أدبية عميقة تعكس ملامح الحياة في قطر قبل عصر النفط.
