يُعد هذا الكتاب دراسة تحليلية معمقة للدور المحوري الذي لعبه يوسف الخال من خلال تأسيسه لمجلة \"شعر\" في بيروت عام 1957. يرى المؤلف أن المجلة لم تكن مجرد دورية أدبية، بل كانت \"مختبراً\" حقيقياً للحداثة العربية، وميداناً لتغيير ذائقة القارئ والشاعر العربي على حد سواء.
