يتناول الكتاب حيث يتحدث فنكلشتاين ضمن هذا السياق عن مشروع مدروس اسمه «صناعة الهولوكوست» يمارس نشاطاته في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية يتزعمه ويغذيه مجموعة من أصحاب رؤوس الأموال والمثقفين بعيدا عن أي «وازع اخلاقي». ان مؤلف هذا الكتاب يشير «ضمنا» إلى نقص الموضوعية: بل و«نقص النزاهة» التي يبديها اولئك الذين يديرون «صناعة الهولوكوست» لاغراض محددة كانوا قد رسموها. ومقابل هذا «النقص» في الموضوعية والنزاهة، مما يمثل بنفس الوقت انتقاصا لفضيلة الشجاعة، يركز «فنكلشتاين» على قناعته بالموقف الفكري والانساني الذي اتخذه. يقول : «كان أهلي يتساءلون غالبا عن الأسباب التي كانت تثير لدي هذا القدر من الغضب حيال تزوير عمليات الابادة التي قامت بها النازية واستغلالها. وكانت الاجابة الأكثر وضوحا وجلاء هي ان ذلك كان يستخدم من اجل تبرير السياسة الاجرامية لدولة إسرائيل وتبرير دعم الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لتلك السياسة.
