ارتسمت خطة الكتاب وحدد منهجه فعرضت موضوعاته في إطار فصلين يتناول الفصل الأول ضوابط الكتابة الصحيحة، ويتفرع إلى ثلاثة مباحث الأول منها يعالج ضوابط الرسم الكتابي، والثاني يعرض علامات الترقيم، والثالث يرصد بعض الألفاظ والأساليب اللغوية التي يحتاج إليها الطلاب في كتاباتهم أما الفصل الثاني فيركز على فنون الكتابة من حيث المجالات والمهارات، ويتوزع في ثلاثة مباحث الأول منها يسلط الضوء على التعبير الوظيفي، والثاني ينهض بتوضيح التعبير العلمي وهو بين الإبداعي والوظيفي، والثالث يشرح التعبير الإبداعي.
