يتناول هذا الكتاب تاريخ الحياة العلمية في جبل نفوسة خلال القرون (2-8 هـ / 8-14 م). ويعد الجبل من المناطق الاسلامية التي إزدهرت حضاريا و ثقافيا خلال العصور الوسطى. وذلك بظهور عدد من الشخصيات العلمية التي ساهمت بدور علمي كبير (تأليفا وتدريسا ونشرا للعلم)، كما تأسست بالجبل عدة مساجد ومدارس ومكتبات كان لهاهي الأخرى الدور الفعال في هذا المجال الحيوي، الأمر الذي ساعد على خلق مناخ علمي وثقافي بالجبل مما أهله ليكون قبلة لطلاب العلم من المناطق المجاورة فكان من المراكز الحضارية الهامة ببلاد الغرب العربي.
