تواكب أحداث الرواية أحداث الانتفاضة الأولى في المناطق الفلسطينية مع بداية شهر كانون الأول عام 1987 وكان أن غيرت واقع المنطقة وقلبت الموازين وخرجت عن كل التوقعات وعند ذلك المنعطف التاريخي والسياسي من عمر القضية الفلسطينية تسير الرواية حيث يدخل القرية جندي إسرائيلي بسيارته عن طريق الخطأ فيحتفظ به سكان القرية لديهم لحين التدبر في أمره وفي نفس الوقت تقع أحداث سريعة ومتتالية في القرية لم يشهد لها السكان مثيلا من قبل وتنتهي الرواية بقصف إسرائيل لتلك القرية.
