إن هذا العمل الذي نقدمه للطلبة والباحثين المهتمين بقضايا المعنى والترجمة يعد تجربتنا الثانية بعد تلك التي جمعتنا بالباحثة إينو عندما اشتغلنا على مدى ثلاث سنوات على كتابها \"تاريخ السيميائية\". إنها تجربة فريدة من نوعها مكنتنا من الوقوف على النقاط المعلمية الكبرى للبحث السيميائي المعاصر والمسائل النظرية الشائكة التي مهدت لظهوره إلى أن أصبح على ما هو عليه الآن. إن طرافة هذه التجربة تتمثل في كون ترجمة الكتاب نهضت أساسا على محاورة صاحبته حول نشأة هذا العلم الفتي وتوجهاته وإشكالياته ورهاناته أيضا وإثارة أسئلة عديدة حول أدق المسائل التي يطرحها الكتاب على الصعيدين الشكلي والدلالي.
