يتناول الكتاب حيث اصطفى الله الشام من الأرض، واصطفى فلسطين من الشام، واصطفى القدس من فلسطين، واصطفى المسجد الأقصى من القدس، واصطفى الصخرة من المسجد الأقصى، وفيها ثاني المسجدين وثالث الحرمين. ويتفق علماء التاريخ البشري على أنه لم تحظ مدينة قط بما حظيت به القدس من أهمية لدى شعوب الأرض قاطبة، فهي مهبط الوحي، وموطن إبراهيم خليل الرحمن، ومقر الأنبياء، ومبعث عيسى كلمة الله التي ألقاها إلى مريم، وقد قال ابن عباس : «البيت المقدس بنته الأنبياء، وسكنته الأنبياء، ما فيه موضع شبر إلا وقد صلى فيه نبي أو قام فيه ملك». وهي أولى القبلتين، وثالث الحرمين، استقبلها المسلمون زهاء عام ونصف بعد هجرة الرسول الكريم إلى المدينة.
