يتضمن هذا الكتاب دراسة وبحث وتعقيبات ومداخلات الحلقة النقاشية التي قام بعقدها مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية. وارتكزت على فكرة أساسية أحاطت بالفرنكوفونية بما تمثله من أيديولوجيا وسياسات وتحدّ ثقافي. كما أشارت الفكرة إلى التأثيرات السلبية لهذه الأبعاد الايدولوجية في النطاق العربي بشكل عام، وأقطار المغرب بشكل خاص. وبدا أن الفكرة قامت بالحرص على وجوب وعي وإدراك الفارق بين الفرنسية كلغة وثقافة وأسلوب حياة والفرنكوفونية كأيديولوجيا. وتُولي الفكرة بالإضافة إلى ذلك، أهمية بالغة وخاصة لتاريخ الاستعمار الفرنسي، وكيفية محاولة الدولة الفرنسية تجاوز تدهور واندثار هذا الاستعمار، حتى انحساره نهائياً.
