يتحدث الكتاب عن قابيل وهابيل أبناء آدم عليه السلام جاء ذكرهما في آيات سورة المائدة دون ذكر اسميهما صراحة، حيث قرب كل واحد منهما قربانا لله عز وجل فتقبل الله قربان هابيل ولم يتقبل قربان قابيل، فهدد قابيل أخاه بالقتل ثم قتله مع سبق الإصرار والترصد، فكان جزاؤه أنه يتحمل كفلا من كل قتيل يقتل من بني آدم إلى يوم القيامة كما جاء في الحديث النبوي الصحيح، وتقرأ في هذا الكتاب تلك القصة وما قيل عنها.
