يتناول الكتاب نبذه عن زكريا تامر ويحكى أنه ولد زكريا تامر في حي \"البحصة\" بمدينة دمشق لأسرة كادحة عام 1931، شرع بكتابة حكايات تثير حفيظة الناس منذ طفولته ولم يلبث الطفل الذي كان في مرحلة الإبتدائية أن ترك التعليم وعمره لا يزيد على (13) سنة عام 1944 نتيجة لظروف القهر الإجتماعي والإقتصادي وبدأ يزاول مهناً عدة حتى استقر في الحدادة، فامتطى صهوتها، والتفع بوهج نارها، وهي المهنة الحلى بالصبر والإحتمال والإرادة والقوة والحدة.
