ينقسم هذا الكتاب إلي خمسة فصول توزعت وفق ما يلي يتناول الفصل الأول \"الإعتراف بالأدوات المالية\" ويتناول الفصل الثاني \"قياس الأدوات المالية\"ويتناول الفصل الثالث \"تحوط الأدوات المالية\" ويتناول الفصل الرابع \"عرض الأدوات المالية\" ويتناول الفصل الخامس \"الإفصاح عن الأدوات المالية\" حيث يسجل التاريخ أن عام 2007 يعتبر بداية عهد المعايير الدولية لإعداد التقارير المالية حيث تم إعتمادها لدى هيئة الأوراق المالية والصرف الأميركية دون مطابقتها بالمبادئ الأمريكية المقبولة قبولا كما يسجل التاريخ أن المعايير الدولية لإعداد التقارير المالية منذ عام 2005 قد أحدثت عاما تغيرات جذرية في الإطار المفاهيمي والعملي للمحاسبة المالية.
