يتحدث الكتاب عن التفسح في اللغة حيث إن اللغة نظام دقيق له ضوابط وأصول تحكمه وتجري أساليب التعامل معه على قواعد العرب التي قعدوها ووضعوا أصولها وأبانوا أحكامها بعد طول استقراء وتتبع للكلام العربي نظمه و نثره وهو الذي بنوا عليه قواعد العربية الكلية ثم خلصوا إلى أن اللغة العربية وأوسع من أن يحاط بها فالعربية لغة التصرف والمجاز وهذا ظاهر في أعلى نصوصها الفصيحة والبليغة المعجزة وشعراؤها أمراء الكلام يصرفونه أنى شاؤوا والعربي إذا قويت فصاحته وسمت طبيعته تصرف وارتجل ولما كانت اللغة لغة التوسع والمجاز.
