يتحدث مؤلف الكتاب وهبة الزحيلي ويقول هدفي هو وضع تفسير للقرآن الكريم يربط المسلم وغير المسلم بكتاب الله تعالى والبيان الإلهي ووحيه الوحيد حاليا الثابت كونه كلام الله ثبوتا بلا نظير له ولا شبيه فإنه سيكون تفسيرا يجمع بين المأثور والمعقول مستمدا من أوثق التفاسير القديمة والحديثة ومن الكتابات حول القرآن الكريم تاريخيا وبيان أسباب النزول وإعرابا يساعد في توضيح كثير من الآيات ولست بحاجة كثيرة إلى الاستشهاد بأقوال المفسرين وإنما سأذكر أولى الأقوال بالصواب بحسب قرب اللفظ من طبيعة لغة العرب وسياق الآية.
