يتناول الكتاب (معجم الشعراء : ويليه تتمة معجم الشعراء) والذي قامه بتأليفه (أبي عبيد الله محمد بن عمران بن موسى المرزباني) في حوالي (2 مجلد) وهذا الكتاب هو جمع تتمة لكتاب معجم الشعراء للمرزباني، قام بها الباحث الدكتور عباس الجراخ مضيفا 376 شاعرا، كما رقم أسماء الشعراء إذا لم ترد لهم ترجمة وكما قام بضبط النصوص وأشار إلى الأخطاء في المصادر وشرح الألفاظ التي تتطلب توضيحا باذلا جهدا، عظيما بذلك.
