ثمة فارق في المنظور المنهجي بين الفلسفات التي تبلورت في \"أيونيا\" عن تلك التي تبلورت في \"إيليا\"، ويمكن إبصار معالم هذا الفارق في إنصراف الأولى نحو البحث عن أصل تفسر به صدور الكائنات وتشكلها، بينما ناهض الإيليون هذه الرؤية الناظرة إلى الوجود كصيرورة لها أصل وإبتداء. اختار بوعزة، على مستوى التأويل الكلي، النظر إلى \"الإيلية\" كفلسفة تجريدية أنطولوجية، مناقضاً بذلك الإختيار لموقف القائلين بوجوب إدراج الإيليين مع الفلاسفة الفيزيائيين، ثم استفاض الطيب في الإجابة عن سؤالات موقعية \"كزينوفان\" في جغرافيا الفكر الإيلي، وهي السؤالات المشكلة التي سعى بوعزة لتفكيكها، وأبرزها في عنوان الدراسة \"كزينوفان والفلسفة الإيلية\"، حيث جعل من هذا الإفراد له بالذكر تمييزا لعلاقتة بالفكر الإيلي.
