الكتاب عبارة عن تأملات فلسفية توغل في أعماق الذات لتستخرج منها معاني تنطلق بعبارات سهلة الألفاظ عميقة الأبعاد يحس قارئها وكأنه يغوص في محيط الزمان والمكان والإنسان المبدع، كالمرأة الحبلى، لا يحمل نفسه وزر الإجابة على السؤال، لأنه، كالمرأة، مهموم بالبحث عن ركن آمن يودع فيه ذلك العبء المقدس الذي رأى فيه \"أفلاطون\" قدر الإنسان نحن خلقنا، إذن، لنفر من أنفسنا نفر من أنفسنا عندما نعشق الله نفر من أنفسنا عندما نهب أنفسنا للمرأة نفر من أنفسنا عندما نتفرغ للمعرفة فأي الخيارات الثلاث أهون ؟ أهل الدنيا يتساءلوون، ولكن المبدع لا يجد فرصة للسؤال.
