يشهد هذا الكتاب الذى يضم مختارات من القصة فى الأردن إلى جانب دراسات حولها على دوام أزدهار هذا الفن وتفتحه فى بقعة عزيزة من بقاع عالمنا العربي مترامي الأطراف هي الأردن كما هي الحال في دول شقيقة أخرى على أن الغرض من هذا الكتاب يتعدى البرهنة على حيوية فن القصة إلى محاولة رصد مسيرته في الأردن منذ ما قبل منتصف القرن الماضي (استقلت المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية فى العام 1946) عبر تقديم حشد من النماذج القصصية الدالة وبعضها لقاصين راحلين أمثال عيسى الناعورى، حسنى فريز، محمود سيف الدين الإيرانى، أمين فارس ملحس.
