الكتاب يركز على الدولة التي أسسها الإخونجي الترابي، منذ وصول الإسلاميين في السلطة في السودان، إلى الفترة التي تم فيها طرده من السلطة، موضحا أن الكتاب يوفر للمنادين بفصل الدين عن السياسة مادة تاريخية مهمة عن الصراع في أوروبا مع الكنيسة، حيث يكشف عن مسعى الترابي لإقامة دولة دينية منذ عام 1965، وتطلعه للزعامة لا يقف عند حدود السودان بل يتجاوزه إلى العالم، وفقا لأوهام جماعة الإخونجية الإرهابية التي لا تعترف بحدود الدولة الوطنية الحديثة، ويتحدث عن طموحات الترابي وتضخيمه لذاته، وكيف أنه لم يكن يرى الآخرين، للدرجة التي جعلته لا يتحدث عن الفساد الذي هو جزء منه إلا بعدما تم إبعاده عن السلطة.
