تحدث د حفناوي بعلي في كتابه عن انه أخذت تبرز وبوضوح معالم المسألة الثقافية في خطاب النهضة الفكرية بالجزائر بالاعتماد على توظيف التقاليد الثقافية المكتوبة. بحيث يمكن تفسير هذا الظهورمع نشوء الشعور الوطني من خلال اهتمام الحركات الفكرية الطليعية عموما بالمراحل النضالية في التاريخ الوطني. في هذه المرحلة تحديدا ظهرت ونشأت أجناس وخطابات ثقافية إصلاحية جديدة عملت على تعميق الوعي لدى رجالات الفكر عبر قوة النماذج والخطابات. لقد جرى تكون وتشكل الإنتلجانسيا الجزائرية الرائدة عبر تجربتها النضالية في المنعطفات المعقدة للمصير الوطني.
