يتناول الكتاب موضوع الوسواس القهري مرض قديم جدا ورد ذكره عند قدماء أطباء الإغريق، فيما لم يعرف المرض حديثا إلا عندما قام طبيب فرنسي اسمه (أسكوريل) بتشخيص مريضة مصابة بمرض الوسواس القهري وكان ذلك في عام 1838 ميلادي وقد وصف بشكل دقيق أعراض الوسواس القهري، رغم أنه لم يطلق على هذا الاضطراب اسم (الوسواس القهري) وعلى ضوء ذلك يقدم هذا الكتاب دراسة حول هذا المرض، تضم الدراسة سبعة مباحث : (الوسواس القهري، أنواع الوسواس القهري، أعراض الوسواس القهري، الإصابة بمرض الوسواس القهري، أسباب مرض الوسواس القهري، الوسواس القهري والاكتئاب وعلاج الوسواس القهري)
