كتاب (صولة العقل على الهوى) تأليف \"عبد الرحمن بن علي بن محمد بن علي بن الجوزي أبو الفرج\"، هي رسالة مختصرة وهامة بين فيها المؤلف ماهية العقل وفضله من جهة النقل والعقل وتناول بالجملة الأمم القديمة كالفرس والروم مع بيان ما اختصت به كل أمة من الفضائل والمناقب وقيمة العقل عند كل منها، ثم يوضح أنها في باب العقيدة خالفت ما يدعو إليه العقل إذ العقل السليم يدعو إلى الإسلام الذي هو دين الفطرة وسار بنا المؤلف ابن الجوزي رحمه الله إلى التاريخ الإسلامي والفرق الإسلامية ووضح مكانة العقل عند كل منها وكل ذلك بإيجاز شديد ظهر فيه فلسفة ابن الجوزي وقوة حجته.
