تمثل \"فلسفة الإعتراف\" أحد وجوه الفلسفة الإجتماعية المعاصرة التي تجنح نحو الديمقراطية التداولية، من حيث أنها تكشف النقاب عن عدم كفاية النزعة الفردانية والنموذج الليبرالي الخالص في تسوية العلاقات النزاعية والصراعية في المجتمع. لأعمال نفر من الفلاسفة الغربيين وجهها بل قل محوريا رئيسيا وقد كانت هذه الفلسفة موضوعا كل منهم وجهة متميزة عن الأخرى، ولعل أبرز هؤلاء الفلاسفة أربعة هم : بول ريكور، تشارلز تايلور، نانسي فريزر وأكسل هونث.
