يبرز لنا الكاتب في هذا الكتاب أهمية الدور المحوري الذي يلعبه العقل في إدراك الموجودات التي يعنى بها مبحث الأنطولوجيا \"مبحث الوجود\" باعتباره أحد المباحث الفلسفية الأساسية، ويتفق الكاتب مع وجهة النظر الفلسفية القائلة : إن المعرفة العقلية أرقى من المعرفة الحسية، وذلك باعتبار أن العقل جارحة إنسانية تمتلك قوة تمكنها من إدراك أنماط شتى من المعارف اللامادية، ويربط الكاتب بين الموجودات والدور الذي يلعبه العقل في إدراك هذه الموجودات ؛ وذلك باعتبار أن العقل هو الرئيس المدبر لشئون الحكم في الموجودات من نباتات وحيوانات وغيرها ؛ أي : إنه هو القاضي الذي يمتلك القول الفصل في الحكم على الموجودات وما تتفرع إليه من مبادئ وأقسام.
