تواجهنا عدة مشاكل فكرية وفلسفية في العصر المعاصر والراهن ومن أهم هذه المشاكل التي يعني بها الفيلسوف هي ضبط المصطلحات ذلك أن كل عصر تطغى فيه بنية مفاهمية تعكس بوضوح إهتماماته وإنشغالاته وهذا الضبط لا يفهم علي أنه تقيّد بقدر ما يفهم علي أنه توسيع يتزايد اهتمام الفيلسوف المعاصر الذي لا يخرج عن هذا السياق إذ نجد أن هناك مصطلحات فرضت نفسها وأثارت جدلا كبيرا بين الفلاسفة ولعلى من أهمها نجد مصطلح \"الهوية\" الذي أخذ يتأثر منذ عقود بمجهودات الفلاسفة شرقا وغربا ويحتل المجالات المعرفية والسياسية وغدي بذلك أزمة حقيقية تعيشها المجتمعات في صميمها.
