عبارة (لاتخاذ اللازم) هي مصطلح إداري يستخدمه المديرون، لتحويل المعاملات إلى المرؤوسين لإكمال الإجراءات فقد أراد المؤلف بهذا العنوان تقليد المديرين فإن مصطلح (لاتخاذ اللازم) قد يبدو مصطلحا روتينيا مقيدا للحركة، بل هو في نظر البعض شفرة بين المدير والمرؤوس، لكي يتخذ الإجراءات المعتادة، دون خروج عن النص، ففي الكتاب وجد المؤلف مساحة من الحرية للتصرف والابتكار، حسب ما تمليه الحالة الإدارية المنظورة وهذا بطبيعة الحال يتوقف على شخصية المرؤوس الذي يتعامل مع هذه الحالة لأن تعليق الأمور تكون لها مضارها على الفرد وعلى التنظيم، ليس هذا فحسب، بل إن اتخاذ اللازم معناه قيادة التنظيم إلى الوضع الأفضل، خاصة إذا كان الجميع في كافة المستويات الإدارية في الهيكل الوظيفي، لديهم القدرة كل حسب طبيعة عمله، على اتخاذ القرارات المناسبة في الوقت المناسب وإذا كان على القائد أن يتخذ اللازم في أمر استراتيجي، فإن الموظف الصغير هو الآخر مطلوب منه أن يتخذ اللازم فيما يخص مسؤولياته.
