ولقد تناولت في هذا الكتاب النقد الأدبي الحديث عند المرأة، نقد الشعر، وفي تصوري فإن دراسة هذا الموضوع لا تتم إلا بدراسة جوانب ثلاثة، استقل كل جانب منها بفصل : الأول مفهوم الشعر، والثاني وظيفة الشعر، والثالث أداة الشعر. على أن يسبق هذه الجوانب كما في تصوري - أيضا - تمهيد وأن تتلوها خاتمة، أما التمهيد فقد توقفت فيه عند المرأة ونقدها للشعر في التراث النقدي والبلاغي، وأما الخاتمة ففيها صفوة ما قد أنجزته من قبل، وما يترتب على ذلك من ملاحظات، وارتأيت أن ينتهي هذا الكتاب بملحق يتضمن المصادر الأساسية لهذه الدراسة وكذلك وصف ببليوجرافي لنقد الشعر عند المرأة في العصر الحديث غير تلك المصادر التي اعتمدت عليها.
