كان للإنسان في بلاد الأناضول شأنه في ذلك شأن أخيه الإنسان في بقية المناطق معتقدات دينية مستوحاة من قدراته وملاحظاته وتجارية المكتسبة، خاصة في بعض المواقع التي عثرت فيها الأدلة الأثرية بها والتي يمكن من خلالها فهم طليعة بعض المعتقدات الدينية التي سادت في تلك المواقع ويرى الباحثون أن تلك المعتقدات لم تكن نشأتها الأولى مجرد عاطفة روحانية اكتسبها الإنسان وتوارثها مع الأجيال، بل كانت حاجة ماسة شعر بضرورة وجودها لحماية ومعاونته في مسيرة حياته، وربما كان للعامل الإقتصادي ُ أثره المباشر في تبلور تلك المعتقدات عندما استقرت التجمعات السكانية.
