علم الأنسجة هو دراسة التشريح الميكروسكوبي لخلايا وأنسجة الحيوانات والنباتات، وتتم هذه الدراسة عن طريق فحص شريحة رفيعة (قطاع) من النسيج تحت الميكروسكوب الضوئي أو الإلكتروني، كما يتم الاستعانة بالمواد المثبتة والصبغات الملونة. علم الأنسجة أداة هامة في علم البيولوجي (الأحياء) والطب. يتطلب تحضير عينات قابلة للدراسة التفصيلية والفحص الميكروسكوبي إلى معاملة الخلايا والأنسجة معاملات خاصة وذلك باستعمال مواد مثبتة تحافظ على الخلايا في حالة أقرب ما يكون إلى الحالة الحية.
