هدف هذا الكتاب التعرف على عناصر دراسات المستفيدين وفئاتها وأسباب غيابها في المكتبات الجامعية السـودانية والصعوبات التي تعترض أمناء المكتبات في عدم إجرائها واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج التاريخي ومنهج دراسة الحالة وتمثلت أبرز نتائج الدراسة في أن عناصر دراسات المستفيد هي المستفيدين وفئاتهم واحتياجاتهم للمعلومات ودوافعهم للحصول عليها والعوامل المؤثرة في استخدامهم لأوعية المعلومات، فضلا عن أن تخطيط خدمات المستفيدين دون إشراكهم وغياب دراسات التقييم في المكتبات واعتماد بعض المستفيدين على قنوات أخرى للحصول على المعلومات التي كانت أبرز أسباب غياب وصعوبات إجراء دراسات المستفيدين.
